My Writing Process

my writing process

Gifted writer, Sophia Jones, tagged me for the Writing Process Blog Hop. For more information on Sophia and to see her books, click here: website.

1) What am I working on?
After a year of not working on the Band of Friends series, I’m happy to say I finished Mystic Hearts, the sequel to Kidnapped Hearts last week.

Currently, I’m starting a new series. (The series name and title have not been determined.) It takes place along the Outer Banks in Duck, North Carolina at Aqua Restaurant and Spa.

2) How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I fuse humor within the romance and mystery and try to provoke emotions out of the reader while always leaving the story on a happy, positive note.

3) Why do I write what I do?
I love the meet cue and how a hero and heroine help each other through difficult, trying situations.

4) How does my writing process work?
Usually a plot comes to me in a dream and it balloons from there. I write a rough draft, knowing the hero and heroines internal and external struggles, but not how they conquer them until I write. Then I revise to dig deeper into the characters and plot.

I’m tagging a fellow Virginian, short story author and novelist, Ronald Paxton. Look for his writing process on April 14th.
