Cait: This is such a treat. I’m happy to interview a fellow Coffee Talk Writer! Sophia, is there anything you want to say before we start?

Sophia: Just thank you for featuring my story. It’s an honor and a pleasure to be here.

Cait: And I love having you here. This is one sensuous cover.

Sophia: Carrie Spencer of designed it. She’s one talented lady.

Cait: She really is. Your title, The Phantom and the Psychic, is a fascinating. How’d you come up with it?

Sophia: It came to me quick and easy as I typed the first few lines of my story. I wanted to capture sort of a fairy tale/fable feeling for adults. I think of stories like The Tortoise and the Hare or The Ant and the Grasshopper. I wanted to create a steamy, romantic series for women that reinforces the moral, “Love conquers all.”

Cait: I like it. Would you tell us a little about the book?

Sophia: Psychic Alyssa DeAngelo travels to a castle-turned-resort in the Italian countryside to assist its owner with his ghostly problem. There, she encounters Dominicus Romano, a tormented soul who has dwelt within the castle walls for six centuries. Can she help him find peace?

Cait: What inspired you to write your first book?

Sophia: I’m a reader. Truly, if I’m not reading, it’s because I’m at work or asleep. The only time I really get a desire to write is when I’m not finding whatever story I’m in the mood for. I started The Phantom and the Psychic after searching Goodreads and Amazon for a steamy ghost story and not really finding anything.

Cait: Do you have a specific writing style?

Sophia: Hm. I’ve had more than one reviewer use the word ‘intense’. Though humor is a part of my writing, and my stories are meant to be quick, fun escapes, my characters often face life and death situations … and, well, things can get intense.

Cait: What are your current projects?

Sophia: I’m currently working on the third tale in my series, The Pirate and the Treasure Hunter. My hero is a cursed British naval officer turned pirate. My heroine is an undersea archaeologist. These two are so much fun, and I’m having a blast with the research elements of the story.

Cait: Name one entity that you feel supported you outside of family members.

Sophia: The Coffee Talk Writers. What an amazing, supportive bunch of women.

Cait: They are. I’m very thankful to be associated with such a talented group. Sophia, it’s been such a pleasure to chat with you today. Before we go, is there anything that you’d like to say to your readers?

Sophia: I really appreciate the folks who are willing to take a chance on a new author, especially a new indie author. And I’m always deeply moved when they take the time to leave a review or visit my website and share a few words. You’re wonderful, thank you. ❤
